Apply for Membership

La Jolla Art Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit art organization that relies on its members for support.  Our mission is to to encourage artists who are willing and eager to learn, to grow, and to share in the process of establishing a Fine Art Community in La Jolla and the greater San Diego area.

 

We offer three types of memberships.

  • Exhibiting Member - Open to local artists of all experience levels who wish to exhibit regularly. We accept oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, ink/pencil, mixed media, photography and digital artwork. Requires completion of an application and digital artwork samples.  Membership is juried.  Dues are $65/calendar year; those joining in December receive 13 months of membership for the first year.  New members joining after July 1, pay a prorated rate of $35.

  • Associate Member - Open to artists who do not live in the local area and/or those who do not wish to enter exhibits, but would enjoy affiliation with La Jolla Art Association.  Requires short application only.  Dues are $65/calendar year; those joining in December receive 13 months of membership for the first year.  New members joining after July 1, pay a prorated rate of $35.

  • Patron - Provides a way for interested individuals or companies to support the mission of La Jolla Art Association through tax-deductible donations.

2.  Email your biography, and 6 images of your work (low resolution or small image size for email) to:

Exhibiting Member

Becoming an Exhibiting Member requires a jury process.

Associate Members do not need to complete the jury process.

Patron Memberships are available to individuals or organizations.

Eligibility

  • Open to artists living in the San Diego area who wish to participate in on-site exhibitions.

  • All experience levels.

  • We accept oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, ink/pencil, mixed media, photography and digital artwork.

  • Must be willing to volunteer.

  • Exhibit additional 2 pieces of your art in each "Find Your Art" category online.

  • Enter juried exhibitions. (Future - show submission fees apply.)

  • Free Entry to our Monthly Art Demonstrations for you and your guest.

Process:
  • Complete the Membership Application Form selecting "Exhibiting Membership". 
  • Email your 1) Artist Biography; 2) Artist Resume; 3) and Six images of your artwork to: Jenljart308@gmail.com.  Your resume should include your exhibition and education history and list of honors/awards.
  • If you are jurying into two categories, you must complete two separate applications.
  • Upon receipt of fully completed application, the Board of Directors will review.
  • You will be notified of the results of the jury process within four weeks. 
  • If accepted, pay your annual dues.  Dues are $65/year.  You can either pay your dues online or by check to La Jolla Art Association, 6800 La Jolla Blvd, La Jolla, CA  92037.
Process:
  • Complete and sign the Membership Application Form selecting "Associate Member".
  • Acceptance is unconditional.
  • Pay your annual dues.  Dues are $65/ calendar year.  You can either pay your dues online or by check to La Jolla Art Association, 6800 La Jolla Blvd, La Jolla, CA  92037.
Process:
  • Complete the Membership Application Form selecting "Patron"
  • Select your desired level of support.
  • Submit your donation electronically or via check. 
  • If paying by check, mail to La Jolla Art Association 6811 La Jolla Boulevard, La Jolla CA 92037.
